Boko Haram Kills 14 In Borno State

Members of the Islamist terrorist group, Boko Haram on Friday, December 25, invaded Kimba, a pastoral community in Borno state killing 14 people and leaving dozens injured.

According to Sahara Reporters, two members of a local vigilante group in the community said the insurgents rode into the town on bicycles since Kimba, which is in Biu local government area, is remote.

He said the attackers sneaked into the town at dusk and began their killing spree.

Mohammed Aliyu, a vigilante member said: "They killed 11 people and injured many more people and set the whole village ablaze."

Another member of the vigilante group, Isa Biu said: "The attackers rode on bicycles to invade Kimba. They had guns and they just opened fire on villagers."

However, speaking to AFP, Mustapha Karimbe, a civilian assisting the military in fighting Boko Haram, said the number of casulaties is at least 14.

Kimba is about to 22 miles from Biu town, the biggest town in the southern part of Borno State.

According to Dailypost the insurgents killed 13 people and abducted eight others, at about 8:30 pm which was said to be the sixth attack in the area recently.

Umar Sani, a resident who spoke to Dailypost on the phone said: "They burnt down our houses, killed our brothers and abducted our children. We are close to Sabon Gari and there are military there at Sabon Gari but they could not come to our rescue. Many people have been wounded. About 17 are currently being treated in Biu. We have lost 13 people and they took eight with them."

The president according to The Punch, made this disclosure on Friday, December 25, at the presidential villa in Abuja during the visit of a delegation led by the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Muhammadu Bello who paid him Christmas homage.
