Anambra House swears in 19 local government Transition committee members

Confusion heralded the swearing in of Chairmen of the 19 out of the 21 local government areas in the state along their councillors as Transition committee members.

Their tenure expired but because Governor Willie Obiano confused with his team and APGA leadership following the threat to expose the milking of the local government federal allocation among others things allowed for them to remain in office until the Anambra central election is conducted,

That is why Chairman of APGA, Sir Norbert Obi called on political Parties in the country have been charged to respect the rule of law for the advancement of the course of democracy.

Speaking to journalist in Awka, the State Chairman of APGA, Sir Nobert Obi said the future of the country is much more important than individual or group aspirations.

Sir Nobert said political parties and politicians should be guided by constitutional provisions and the Electoral Act in their decisions and actions.

He as also noted that APGA has remained law abiding and exemplary in its conduct by sustaining internal democracy and cohesion within all its structures.

The State Publicity Secretary of the party Mr Chinedu Nkwonta said APGA is the only political party in the country that is well repositioned to tackle the various challenges confronting the country.

Mr Nkwonta noted that the party has vision, direction and quality leadership that would provide great and bright future for the country.

In his reaction, an APGA Chieftain, Mr Olisa Aniuno said the recent Supreme Court Verdict provided opportunity to further strengthen the party as one united family with common purpose.

Mr Aniuno called on all members of the party to embrace Governor Willie Obiano's quest for total reconciliation to build a formidable and future oriented party that would open opportunities for Ndigbo and Nigerians.

He described the National Chairman of APGA as an astute politician, a peace maker and someone who believes in fairness and equity.

Mr Nuel Udorji, the Secretary of APGA in Onitsha South said APGA has become a political force to reckon with and is making waves across the country.

Mr Udorji noted that the party is providing quality leadership to the state and has candidates who would provide quality representation.
