Panic in Kaduna over bomb scare

The Unguwar Rimi area of Kaduna metropolis was yesterday, January 25, thrown into chaos over fears that a parked car was carrying improvised explosives.

According to The Tribune, the chaos ensued after a car parked near a hotel for several hours raised fears that it may explode, prompting shop owners to close their shops and scamper for safety.

Eyewitness told The Tribune that the car which had been parked at Hamdala Hotel since Sunday, raised suspicion after nobody came to pick it.

“This morning (Monday), we became suspicious when the went to open our shops and the vehicle was still there.
“So we had to advise shop owners in the area not to open until we contacted the police.
People had to vacate the scene and stand at a distance expecting the car to  explode.

However normalcy returned to the area after the anti-bomb squad later came to the scene to inspect the vehicle and conveyed it to the police command.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria army has killed 14 Boko Haram insurgents and captured two others around Chirokusko Village in Tarmuwa Local Government Area in Yobe state.
