A Nollywood actor Mr Obi Okoli says Nollywood can create more jobs in the country if properly harnessed.
He sated this while speaking with Chibuzor Okoye at the Anambra State Internally Generated Revenue Summit, organized by the Fidelity Bank Plc in partnership with the state government at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women's Development Centre in Awka.
According to Mr Okoli, Nollywood is a viable industry that could employ a lot of people especially now that the country is faced with serious economic meltdown, due to the continuous decline in the price of crude oil at the international market.
The Veteran actor pointed out that nollywood is improving tremendously as they have transited from shooting analogue movies to digital and cinemas as obtained in the developed countries of the world but regretted that paucity of fund is the greatest challenge facing the industry.
Mr Okoli who is also a Lecturer in the Department of theatre arts and film studies, University of Nigeria Nsukka, commended Governor Willie Obiano for his developmental strides, adding that if Governor Obiano continues with the tempo, the state
will reap from the entertainment industry that only thrives in a secure environment which Governor Obiano has provided in the state.
