Pregnant woman, her seven kids swept away by flood

The Chairman of Ndokwa East Local Government Area, Dr. Nkechi Enumah-Chukwurah, confirmed the accident.
Enumah-Chukwurah, who spoke at the Government House in Asaba, said the Okpai Power Plant in the area is also threatened by the flood.

A pregnant woman and her seven children have been swept away by flood in Delta State.
The eight family members were said to be sailing across a portion of River Niger in Anambra State to Delta State.
They were said to be returning from the market and heading towards Ndokwa area of Delta State when the accident occurred.

The Chairman of Ndokwa East Local Government Area, Dr. Nkechi Enumah-Chukwurah, confirmed the accident.
Enumah-Chukwurah, who spoke at the Government House in Asaba, said the Okpai Power Plant in the area is also threatened by the flood.

She said: "We received information of a pregnant woman who went to Anambra and on her way back, was swept away along with seven children.

"One of the children was later found dead on the bank of the communities.
"But the pregnant woman and the six other children have not been found."
