Lassa Fever Kills Young Man In Lagos

A 25-year-old student from the Ahmadu Bello University was diagnosed with Lassa Fever at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba.


The patient, who first has been admitted at a private hospital in Ojokoro area of Lagos State, is responding to treatment, the Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, claimed.

At least 43 people died of Lassa Fever in 10 states, after the death of a Lassa Fever victim at the National Hospital in Abuja.

The minister of health on Wednesday called on health workers at all levels to be more vigilant and look out for patients with symptoms of Lassa Fever.

Symptoms Of Lassa Fever:

• -high fever;
• – stooling;
• – tiredness;
• – vomiting.
