JOSAN Ltd, a partnership with the state government and Jeseph Agro Ltd, has achieved a milestone in Anambra Rice Production with the resuscitation of Ufuma Rice project.
The Ufuma rice project, which has potentials for a two-season rice farming with irrigation facilities, had laid fallow for years until the latest intervention.
According to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, on Political Matters, Mr. Onyeka Mbaso, the totally refurbished Ufuma rice farm recorded a good harvest last farming season with farmers accreditation for dry season farming completed.
The Senior Special Assistant said with the height so far attained, the state is closer to achieving self sufficiency in rice production.
Mr. Mbaso said government has also resuscitated the Anambra state fish farm also at Ufuma, adding that it will begin operation soon.
