APGA Begins Membership drive For 2017 Governorship Election In Anambra

The Anambra State chapter of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has embarked on membership drive to add to its fold in preparation for the next Governorship election slated for 2017 in the state.

The party stated on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 that it was expanding its youth wing base by screening its youth wing leaders in the 326 wards in the state.

They are in turn expected to embark on membership drive of youths from other political parties to APGA fold.
The state youth leader, Peter Ozumba, said that the exercise which has just began entailed screening of the youth leaders to ensure that they are really qualified to lead by possessing membership and voter's cards which qualifies them to be members of the party and be eligible to vote during the forthcoming governorship election.

According to Ozumba, it is the duty of the party to ensure that every member is in good standing by possessing all the relevant documents needed to be members and as well voters.

The screening exercise, he said will also enable the party to know their strength and weaknesses and expose the youth leaders to the challenge ahead.

Ozumba said each local government will raise 30 member-youth working committee who must have membership and voter cards.

This, according to him, is to ensure that the party wins the next election.
It will be recalled that the party has also embarked on re-registration of members with the coming on board of a new national chairman, Dr. Ike Victor Oye.

Oye had said at the launching of new cards at his ward in his home town Amawbia that the re-registration was aimed at strengthening the party in view of changes in leadership.
