GOVERNOR Willie Obiano has donated five million naira and a thirty-two seater bus to St Loretto Special Science Secondary School, Adazi.
Governor Obiano made the donation while addressing parishioners and the people of Adazi Nnukwu during a thanksgiving mass by the Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism, at St Andrews Catholic Church Adazi.
Governor Obiano who expressed satisfaction with the performance of two students of the school, also gave the students 100 thousand naira each. On the theme of the homily delivered by Auxiliary Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Jonas Benson Okoye which centred on service to make heaven. Governor Obiano said everyone can make heaven through their work and services if they are channeled for the good of all. He noted that all the enconmiums being showered on him by the people will spur him to do more, adding that he would Continue to work for the general interest of the people especially the poor.
Earlier in a homily, Bishop Okoye expressed appreciation to the governor for including a daughter of the community in his cabinet saying that for the first time, the Adazi Nnukwu is taking part as a Commisioner in the state while charging the celebrant Commissioner Uju Nwogu to utilize the opportunity well to the advantage of all the citizens Bishop Okoye maintained that governance should not be left for the Governor alone , calling on members of the state executive to join hands with the governor to take the state to a greater height.
The prelate equally added that development of the state is a collective responsibility , frowning at individuals who impose illegal and multiple taxation on traders in the name of government and said that Governor Obiano is a governor with a human face who has done marvellously well within a short period in office.
In their separate speeches the celebrant Dr Mrs Uju Nwogu and her husband Professor Ken Nwogu who appreciated the governor for the honour he brought to his family highlighted some of the achievements of the present administration in all spheres of the state economy. Contributing the Chairman of Anaocha local government area Mr Ike obi reiterated that people of the council area have benefited immensely from the Obiano led administration promising to stand by the All Progressives Grand
Alliance when he said its only the party with the peoples interest at heart. High points on the event were offertory procession by the Exco members.
