President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a
condolence to the minister of Labour and Employment Chris Ngige over the
death of the late Ngige Patriarch, Pa Akunnia Pius Ngige.
Pa Ngige passed on last month at the age of 105 years, and his remains would be laid to rest on Saturday, January 23.

The president’s message to Ngige was contained in a letter to dated 13th February, 2016 and personally signed by the President.
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari, his vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Senate president, Bukola Saraki and the speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Dogara, among other are dignitaries are expected to attend the burial of late Pa Pius Ngige, according to leadership.

According to the website of the Federal Ministry Of Information, fmi.gov.n, the president stated that: Please convey my heart-felt condolences to the immediate family and the good citizens of Alor town. It is always sad when a dear friend loses his dad, as one cannot fully share the grief. But, we must take solace in the old saying: ‘All who live must die, passing through nature to eternity.’ I join you in honouring the grand old man and cherish the contributions he and his contemporaries made to build Nigeria to the status it is now. His was a life well spent”.
