A suspected thief, who was burnt to death in Port Harcourt, the Rives state capital, shouted "Jesus" three times before giving up the ghost.
The man was alleged to be a member of a robbery gang that attacked the community but was the unlucky one to be nabbed while the others managed to escape.
But instead of handing over the man to appropriate quarters for sanction, the mob took laws into their hands and burnt him to death, in spite of protests by some members of the crowd against such actions.
