Buhari never shut down Aso Villa Chapel

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Mr. Femi Adesina, has refuted reports that President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the shutdown of the Chapel in Aso Villa, Abuja.

Adesina, who described the report as an imaginative rumour, in a tweet via his handle, @FemAdesina said: “President Muhammadu Buhari (PMB) orders Aso Villa Chapel shut?

There is no such thing. It’s only a rumour spawned by fecund imagination gone into overdrive. PMB respects freedom of worship.”

Recall that the social media had been abuzz since last Sunday, over reports that President Buhari had allegedly moved against Christian religious activities within the precincts of the Aso Rock presidential villa.
The Aso Rock Villa Chapel serves as the official church of Aso Rock where Christian activities inside the presidential villa are conducted.
It was said that heavily armed men reportedly stormed the Aso Rock Chapel on Sunday, August 30, 2015 denying worshipers access to the church.
However, photos emanating from the chapel on Sunday, September 6, 2015, showed that the Aso Villa chapel was not shut.
