A miracle baby was born in the middle of the Mediterranean moments after a small boat carrying its Nigerian mother and about 100 other migrants started sinking.
The mom who was attempting to cross into Italy was saved from the rickety dinghy and gave birth on board the rescue ship headed to the southern Italian island of Lampedusa, the Daily Mirror reported. After giving birth, the woman was helped off the boat. A coast guard carried her baby in a blue blanket. Both she and the baby are healthy after being taken to the hospital
