Anambra state govt. frowns at defacing of the environment

The Anambra State Government hereby expresses dismay at the low response by owners of businesses and marketers in the state to pay for their signboards, branded vehicles and other signages.
Government is also not happy with the mindless use of religious, business, political, wedding and burial posters and banners to deface the environment which the State Government is spending huge sums of money to maintain.
Government therefore by this announcement reminds individuals or group of persons particularly politicians, business owners, church organizations, intending couples and those who lost their loved ones that indiscriminate posting of posters and banners on unauthorized places in the state are illegal acts capable of attracting the wrath of the law.
Those who are in the habit of using posters and banners to deface the environment are hereby warned to desist from so doing or face prosecution by law enforcement agencies.
Similarly, those who are yet to pay for their signboards, branded vehicles and other signages are also advised by this announcement to immediately approach the Anambra State Signage and Advertising Agency (ANSAA) offices in Nnewi North, Onitsha North and South as well as Awka South to pay for them.
The State Signage and Advertising Agency has been directed to henceforth, ensure strict compliance to this directive and also ensure that defaulters are promptly prosecuted in accordance with the law.
Ndi Anambra, let us help restore beauty to our environment and assist government to provide basic amenities that will boost the living standards of our people.
