Ahead of the proposed January 31 resumption date of the 2016 football season by the League Management Company (LMC), the management of premier league side, FC Ifeanyi Ubah has commenced work to give the FC Ifeanyi Ubah International Stadium in Nnewi a face lift in readiness for the league opener.
The LMC which has insisted that there will be no going back on the January 31 commencement date of the new league season has noted that it will soon begin an inspection tour of all the stadia that are designated to host the league matches for the season, warning that venues that are not meet standard specifications would be banned from playing host to the league matches until they are brought to the standard required by the league organisers.
The FC Ifeanyi Ubah International stadium management has assured that the stadium will meet all the LMC requirements ahead of the new season, adding that the main purpose of the rehabilitation work is to bring the stadium to international standard as the club is poised to stage continental championships in Nnewi with a resolve to pick one of the slots to represent Nigeria in the continent at the end of this season.
The LMC is currently putting together modalities that would see the pre-season league opener, the Super League which is expected to come a week before the beginning of the league.
A total of twenty clubs have intensified preparations with the signing and blending of both new and old players in readiness for the begin hostilities when the new season begins on January 31.
