Gov Obiano’s Twin Soccer Fiesta: Ihiala & Ekwusigo Seal 3rd Places in Male & Female Categories

The Twin Soccer Fiesta happening only in Anambra State is really coming to an end after contributing in the glorious yuletide which Governor Willie Obiano promised Ndi Anambra.

On Friday 8th day of January 2016, the local government contenders of the governor's cup which has been narrowed down to 4 teams apiece - male and female, to contest the semi-finals; battled it out at Chuba Ikpeazu Stadium, Onitsha for the 3rd place.

It was an entertaining third place contest for both the male and female categories as the teams involved were all ready to battle for the pride.

For the male category, it was a fight to finish for the men of Ihiala LG and Anaocha LG which ended in a stalemate of 1 goal apiece. The tie has to be decided on penalty shootout which the men from Ihiala went ahead to win 3-0.

For the female category, the ladies from Ekwusigo LG had to show superiority over the ladies of Awka South in a one-sided contest ending with 3 unreplied goals in favour of the Ekwusigo ladies.

Recall that following the charge by Gov Obiano, the soccer fiesta is being organised by the Ministry of Youth Entrepreneur and Sports Development to re-ignite the spirit of oneness among Ndi Anambra.
