Obiano has donated an eighteen seater bus to Butchers in Anambra

Governor Willie Obiano has donated an eighteen seater bus to the Association of Anambra state butchers.
Governor Obiano made the presentation at the governors lodge Amawbia .

Presenting the bus, Governor Obiano said in driving the policy on improved environment in abbatoirs in the state, the bus will aid them to monitor the situation and ensure strict compliance.

Governor noted that the association has given him solemn promise to abide by the policy stressing that all efforts are geared towards ensuring clean abbatoirs across the state.

The commissioner for Agriculture, Mr Afam Mbanefo, said the gesture was in line with getting closer to the butchers to aid government in achieving its objective of making sure that ndi Anambra consume meat sold in a healthy environment.

Mr Mbanefo added that logistics, moving of cattle and moving of butchered meat are all included in the policy while the butchers have undergone and is still undergoing training on the new policy.

Responding, the chairman of the association, Chief Chukwuka Ikenga, expressed appreciation to the governor for the gesture, promising to make optimal use of the vehicle.
