News Agency of Nigeria reports that Mr Zayyanu Ibrahim, the public
relations officer of the Jigawa command of the Federal Road Safety Corps
said the accident happened on Sunday, January 10 during midday.
He explained that the bus was taking exchange students of Unity
schools from Damaturu, Yobe, to Abuja when the driver lost control of
the vehicle at Zangon Buji village.
Four students reportedly passed away immediately while the remaining
two students died on Monday, January 11 at the Rasheed Shekoni
specialist’s hospital, Dutse.
Ibrahim said other persons who sustained varying degrees of injuries
were at the aforementioned hospital and Dutse general hospital receiving
treatment.
The FRSC spokesperson advised motorists not to speed under any circumstance as the consequence was disastrous.
