The State Chairman of Trade Union Congress, Comrade Ifeanyi Okechukwu, has urged the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company to consolidate on the lofty projects of Governor Willie in Anambra state by ensuring constant power supply to the state.
Comrade Okechukwu stated this while speaking with journalists in Awka.
The TUC Chairman, who decried the epileptic power supply in the state, however commended Governor Willie Obiano for recently commissioning the two-by-seven-point-five NVA injection sub-station at Enugu-Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area, which service four major feeders across the state.
Comrade Okechukwu expressed optimism that the measure will improve power supply in the state and enhance the state's economic growth.
The TUC Chairman called on the Federal Government to prevail on Electricity Distribution Companies to use prepaid metres for billing electricity consumption to ensure that consumers pay for what they consume in the interest of the masses.
Comrade Okechukwu expressed joy that the present administration under the leadership of Governor Obiano has touched all sectors and called on the citizens to take ownership of government project in their communities to prevent theft and vandalism.
