THE Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, Prof. Joseph Eberendu Ahaneku, has warned that any student who did not attain 75 per cent attendance of lectures would not be allowed to write end of semester examination.
The VC said this during the Thanksgiving Ceremony of the outgoing Dean of Faculty of Management Sciences, Prof. Steve Ibenta, which held at the faculty quadrangle.
Prof. Ahaneku also disclosed that the university would no longer award 'pass' grade. He enjoined students to study hard to make good grades, while advising them to shun cultism, immoral acts and other social vices that contravene the school rules and regulations.
Ahaneku stressed that his administration would stop at nothing to make the school better than he met it, adding that he hopes to make it one of the leading institutions in Africa.
In his remark, former VC of the school, Prof. Pita Ejiofor called on the students to face their studies, saying the university is a large community where people learn the good and the bad.
Commending the VC for the positive changes in the school, the celebrant, Prof. Ibenta thanked the university management for the opportunity to serve in that capacity.
Prof. Boniface Egboka, Vice Chancellor (2008 to 2014) was among the many dignitaries that graced the event.
