The Vice Chairman of All Progressives Congress
(APC) for Bauchi South Senatorial District, Musa
Adamu Lar has reversed his last Friday's decision to
resign from his position.
Announcing the reversal of his resignation when he
addressed journalists at a stakeholders meeting in
Bauchi yesterday, Adamu Lar said his decision to
make a U-turn resulted from intervention of
stakeholders from the Bauchi South Senatorial
District.
He said, "After tendering my resignation letter,
members of the state executive council of our party
rejected it and prevailed on me to withdraw the letter
because I did not consult any of the stakeholders
before taking such decision. I have decided to
withdraw my resignation today because I have seen
reason to do so based on the intervention of the
stakeholders and based on my respect for the party
and people of the zone because I am not
representing myself alone but the people of the
seven local government areas under my zone."
The seven local government areas in the district
include Alkaleri, Bauchi, Dass, Tafawa Balewa, Toro,
Bogoro and Kirfi.
It could be recalled that the vice chairman tendered
his resignation on Friday at a meeting of the state
party stakeholders meeting immediately after a press
conference he held to announce his resignation from
his position. He stated at the time that he resigned
because of alleged bad leadership in the party in
Bauchi State.
Responding, the state Organizing Secretary of APC,
Alhaji Abdulkadir Gyangyan commended Lar for
withdrawing his resignation letter and allowing
reason to prevail after meeting with the stakeholders.
He said the Vice Chairman took the decision
unilaterally without consulting any leader of the party
from the Bauchi South Senatorial Zone.
Other stakeholders who also spoke, welcome the vice
chairman back into the fold and assured of their own
support.Senator representing Bauchi South, Ali
Wakili and other party stakeholders from the zone
ýattended the meeting.
