The State Police Command says it is committed to making Anambra a peaceful and crime free state.
The State Commissioner of Police Mr Hosea Karma stated this after a meeting of cattle menace control committee at the Government House Awka.
Chinedu Ezenwa who covered the event, quotes Mr Karma as saying that the cattle menace control committee, was set up by Governor Willie Obiano to end conflicts between farmers and herdsmen in the state.
Mr Karma, who said that the committee made up of some traditional rulers, head of Fulani herdsmen in the state, representatives of the state security council, has conducted advocacy visits to various communities where farmers and herdsmen are having feud with a view to finding a lasting solution to it.
Mr Karma, therefore enjoined farmers and members of the public not to take laws into their hands rather they should report any illegal activities of herdsmen to the committee or security agencies in the state for necessary action.
