The role of Christianity in nation building has been stressed.
The Anglican Bishop of Mbamilli Diocese, Right Reverend Henry Okeke made this assertion when he led some missionary workers to Odeh, Odomogwu and Igbokenyi communities in Anambra West Local Government Area.
The Missionary train, traveled for hours on water and were warmly received by the communities on arrival.
Bishop Okeke commended them for accepting the gospel and giving room for evangelism which he said will lead to economic development.
He said the visit was to get first hand information on the plights of the people of the Area, with a view to finding a lasting solution to them.
The Bishop disclosed that the cordial relationship existing between the church and the state government has created a conducive environment for democracy dividends to get to the hinterland.
Bishop Okeke who disclosed that the church will built a school for the children of the communities urged them to shun hatred and disunity for peace.
The Vicar in charge of Saint Mary's Anglican Church Igbokenyi, thanked the Bishop and his team for visiting the church.
Some parishioners from Saint Barnabas Odeh/Odomogwu while thanking the Bishop and his entourage asked for assistance to enable them build a church of their own.
The Bishop later dedicated a one hundred and fifty passenger boat donated by a philanthropist, Mr. Godwin Ezeemo to the communities.
Speaking, some representatives of the donor Dr Ralph Chukwueze and Chief Mathias Aneke, commended him for the gesture and urged the communities to make judicious use of the boat to propagate the gospel.
